Policy: We have refrained from formally defining the terms “startup” and “small enterprise”. Most people have similar associations, if it comes to theses terms. Companies, which have existed for 25 years and more and have more than 100 employees, for most people do no longer qualify as startup or as small enterprise neither for us. The same holds true for pure research facilities even if they collaborate closely with industry. Other than that we want to be inclusive rather than exclusive and we want to have an as comprehensive network as possible rather than one that complies with whatever formal definitions.
